Hatyai’s Flood โดย SUNO
Sad, sad, sad, every year's the same.
Floodwaters rollin' on through the land of Thailand.
North to Isan, Central, and the South,
Somewhere's drownin', they're cryin' out loud.
We blame the storms, we blame the rain,
But who's the one to take the blame?
Humans makin' choices, we know who's to blame,
This year in Hat Yai, it's a different game.
Oh, HatYai's floodin' deep, it's a heavy load,
The worst in nearly thirty years, down that old gravel road.
Four reasons why, let me tell you true,
It's the land, the sky, and what we do.
First, the topography, low-lying and flat,
Slopes to Songkhla Lake, where the waters sit.
Easy to flow, hard to drain, that's the way it goes,
Royal projects tryin' but it's still overflowed.
Next comes the weather, unpredictable and wild,
Heavy rains pourin' down, nature's child.
Cold air from China, southward it came,
Monsoon's rollin', playin' no game.
La Niña's in town, bringin' humidity high,
Floods across the region, no lie.
In Hat Yai, on November twenty-first,
335 millimeters—oh, it's the worst in 300 years, it's a curse.
Oh, HatYai's floodin' deep, it's a heavy load,
The worst in nearly thirty years, down that old gravel road.
Four reasons why, let me tell you true,
It's the land, the sky, and what we do.
Third, the systems—water management and alerts,
Still limited, the response just gets worse.
We knew the storms were comin', still we weren't prepared,
Early warnings came too late, no one cared.
Why do we keep on fallin' behind?
Civil folks are helpin', but the government's blind.
Talkin' in Parliament, but help don't come fast,
Thailand's tragedy, it's a thing of the past.
So next time the rains begin to fall,
Remember these reasons—stand tall.
We gotta do better, gotta make a change,
Or next year, we'll be back in the same ol' game.
